Hello, and welcome to Hazelwood Counseling LLC! My name is Amy S. Beard, and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Oregon. I am passionate about my work, and my role as a therapist is to take a person-centered, strengths-based approach and provide my clients with a safe, accepting space for each client to explore their story and consider the next steps in their journey. Please see What I Treat for more information on the services I offer as a therapist. I also offer clinical supervision to Clinical Social Work Associates.  

I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Portland State University in 2018 and spent two years in nonprofit management at the Sexual Assault Resource Center in Beaverton, Oregon before transitioning into individual clinical work in 2020. Prior to and during my graduate studies, I worked and volunteered for nonprofit organizations providing services to survivors of domestic and sexual violence.

I use a person-centered, strengths-based approach to talk therapy, working with you to find the treatments and direction most useful for you. I take a flexible, integrative approach, relying on a variety of psychological theories and treatment modalities to help you reach your goals. 

I will be there for you throughout your journey of healing and change. My goal as a therapist is to help you identify and heal from the root causes of current pain, connect to what makes life meaningful for you, and help you integrate your values, goals, and coping skills into your life so you can move toward the life you want to live.
